Let me get started.

Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific is a computer simulation of submarine warfare in the Pacific Theater of Operations of WW II. The game, I the future posts I will be referring to as a sim short for simulator and SH4 for the sim. The sim is patched up to 1.2 and awaiting news of 1.3.

The Mod I will Be using with this sim is "Real Fleet Boat Mod", RFB for short version 1.28.
The settings will be 100% realism.

I hope to also use dead reckoning navigational plotting and a Plot Board.

I will also be using other calculators such as the Submarine Attack Course Finder Mark 1 Model 3 no.1915

and the reverse side call IT-WAS.

Another tool I will be using is a circular slide rule. I downloaded the facings and made this one.

The Sim has a stock Submarine School to learn the mechanics of the Sim. RFB has a modified version of the school. The first training exercise is Navigational. The stock version is a plain navigation arround an Island. The RFB version has you of the New England coast and is far more detailed. You will receive radio messages for tasks you will need to accomplish in this exercise.

What I hope to accomplish is the objectives of this exercise and my other personal goals.
1. Lay out a plot of the course
2. Take bearing and ranges of other vessels.
3. Dry run Torpedo solutions.

Thats for starters, wish me luck. The subject of my next post will be on the Navigational Exersice.
